Cy is a 2019 graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston, MA. He received both a Master of Arts in Religion and a Master of Divinity. His undergraduate degree is in petroleum engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Cy has worked in numerous areas in his career, first serving as an 11th grade physics teacher, a construction risk manager, and in various student ministry roles in Austin and the Boston area.
His heart and calling for ministry began as a small group leader walking a group of 6th grade boys through their senior years in high school. Those consecutive years of investment fueled a deepening passion for discipleship in the lives of students. Through this and other life experiences, God continued to call Cy to vocational ministry leading him to pursue a seminary degree and Student Ministry roles. After serving a local church as a Student Pastor in Massachusetts and then serving again in the Austin area, he is looking forward to the next step of God’s plan and calling on his life. He is excited about loving and discipling students, resourcing and equipping parents, and releasing student ministry leaders to invest well.
Cy has been married to bride, Kelsey, since August 2019. Kelsey holds a manufacturing engineering degree from Texas State University and is currently working as an engineering director at a firm in the Austin-area. They both enjoy outdoor activities including, hiking, Spartan racing, sand volleyball, and more. They also love board games, video games, reading, and watching movies.
